The owl thing is more or less accurate. Owls are native to every continent except Antartica, so Earth isn't really a wrong answer. Antarctica isn't overly blessed with terrestrial animals. The documented non-marine endemic species are all small invertebrates, the largest of which is a wingless midge which only grows to half an inch in length (Belgica antarctica). The others are various mites, spiders, springtails, earthworms, molluscs, beetles and flies.

I literally think about Essentialist purpose like Thog constantly. And that I might be Thog and my value hasnt even been invented yet and due to the inability to concieve of that which we don't know will never be able to find what I'm supposed to be doing
Well, if it makes you feel better: That assumes we have an innate value or super specific skill, which we might have traits which make the pursue of certain skills feel nature/better/faster, but in the end of the day it's through practice that the skill and these traits can flourish. So if your value hasn't been invented yet, you have the opportunity to do so.

B-BUT HOW
I forgot what sidequest it is, but at some point in the game you get a ring to block projectiles. Later you get an item that makes the ring reflect them. I kind of just futzed around and found it. I would guess the developers knew this fight could be easy with the ring. :)
